Day 5
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a stop at Olduvai Gorge, the cradle of mankind, for a picnic lunch and a visit to the small museum. Continue after lunch to the Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania's 'secret garden' which contains a hidden world of teeming wildlife. Descend 2000 feet from the lush rain forest on the rim to the savannah bush and acacia woodland on the crater floor for an afternoon of game viewing. Drive back up to the crater rim in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena or Sopa Lodge
Day 6
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
(Sunday) After an early breakfast leave for a full day in the crater following and photographing the animals. At lunch time relax with a picnic. Leave by 16.30 for the 2 hour drive to Kirurumu Tented Lodge arriving in time for a hot shower before dinner. Overnight at Kirurumu Tented Lodge
Day 7, 8 & 9
Zanzibar's Stone Town
In the morning return to Arusha, with a picnic lunch en route, in time for the Precision Air flight direct to Zanzibar. Met on arrival and transferred to the Tembo hotel in Zanziba's historic Stone Town. These are free to explore the fascinating Stone Town of Zanzibar, and perhaps take one of the exciting excursions on offer such as visiting Prison Island to see the ruins and the giant sea turtles, or the Spice Tour, or through the narrow streets of the town to see Livingstone's house and the old Slave Market, or perhaps take a trip to Jozani forest to see the orchids and indigenous red colobus monkeys. Overnight at the Tembo hotel.
Day 10, 11, 12, 13, & 14
Zanzibar's Indian Ocean Beaches
In the morning, drive from Zanzibar's Stone Town to Ras Nungwi on the northern most tip of Zanzibar. Ras Nungwi is widely considered as the most beautiful beach on the island and the hotel (also called Ras Nungwi) is situated mere feet from the sparkling ocean. Guests chalets are designed in a simple Swahili style with balconies from which to enjoy the sea views. Your days at Nungwi can be spent diving or snorkelling or simply absorbing the magic of the location.
Day 15
Fly home
Transfer to the airport and fly from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam to connect with your international flight back home
